INFORMATION ON COMPANIONS
"You must protect, love and respect your Master for as long as you serve them."
The Three Law of Robotics:
The Three Laws of Robotics comes into play with the Companions. Not all Companions follow them, but it's the general code written within their programming despite being as human as possible.
The only reasoning that a Companion doesn't follow the three laws would be defectiveness, or that they were programmed not to, such as police units for special purposes. Defective Companions are often weeded out by these units and scrapped on the spot.

- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

THEY CAN:
- Have distinct personalities! Companions are usually very expressive to appear as human as possible
- Feel emotions and physical sensations (pain, arousal) though not as strongly as a human would- often a subtle or nagging feeling- under emotional stress, defective models are likely to experience errors
- Have a certain theme (Related to their job or a household item or anything possible really) at the request of the Master
- Be defective- newer and older models aren't exceptions with defectiveness
- Track their Masters, and vice versa
- Detect wireless signals via radio towers, stations, etc
- Communicate via a type of telepathy to other Companions also with a signal each one gives off- though this is only if they have antennas attached
- Be hacked and tampered with, Companions are easily manipulated in the wrong hands, specifically those who know their way around the technology. Even someone who isn't well versed in the technicalities can still do a bit of damage with the right equipment
- Be altered (by the Master or people who specifically work to customize them)
- Have a sense of gender identity, sexual orientation, etc that is usually predetermined by the Master though they can also grow to learn their own preferences
THEY CANNOT:
- Be disowned, thrown away or replaced (This does not stop anyone from trying, however)
- No one Companion is alike- the theme can be similar but they are all tailored and customized to their Master's wishes
- Live forever and ever. They aren't perfect robots and they do eventually die, and even though they are extremely durable, nothing is stopping them from randomly breaking or becoming defective if they suffer enough damage- there are cases of them just 'dying' randomly without anything to cause it
- Get sick or suffer from common types of ailments- they can't catch normal sicknesses but can contract viruses from computers and infected hardware
- Be given to just anyone- the process to get a companion can be complicated depending on the person
UNLESS GIVEN PERMISSION, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE YOUR OWN.
it's become something personal for me and my friend and i'm not as willing to share the concept as much anymore- it's become very plot centric and personal for me, please don't ask to make one or join the plot; the answer will probably be no.
